F House
Klahim
A single family residence located on the edge of the desert.
In order to passively cope with the harsh desert climate and minimize energy consumption, the house was designed as a series of solid boxes with little fenestration.
The majority of openings are minimal, but because of the high radiation prevalent in the region, the amount of sunlight entering the spaces is sufficient. The only area with large openings is the central living space overlooking the courtyard and the vast open landscape, which is shaded by a deep pergola. On comfortable days the facade can be completely opened, thereby diffusing the boundary between inside and outside.
